Yes, the holidays on the road like and also a lot. But the most important thing is to choose panoramic roads, roads that have a story to tell.
The roads are not all the same, there are enchanted places with scenic routes so beautiful that you would never want to stop walking. You can admire the landscape, you can make a stop every now and then and see some places of interest with monuments, historic residences, castles…. and turn the street into a cultural treasure chest capable of giving us memories for life. And maybe you can also discover museums or small art galleries hidden but beautiful, you can meet talented artists and even buy works of art.
Travelling really becomes an adventure, it becomes a way to get rich culturally and see small glimpses of the world that we never imagined they were so beautiful, just think of the Corniche de l’Estérel in France that thanks to the red rocks that are mirrored in the blue sea offers unique and enchanted views with truly unique reflections.
But also the very Italian Via Francigena is a path to take to discover small villages and natural beauty, to rediscover the sense of community and a sense of religiosity and the sacred that can hardly be explained in words. On the way you can make new friends and often you meet people with whom you can confide and divide at least a part of your life, are ties that remain and enrich us if we only cultivate them a little.
In this article that I found online there are seven wonderful roads that promise unique landscapes and places of culture all to visit, but obviously there are many other scenic routes that are just waiting to be discovered for slow, intimate but beautiful holidays.
If you have already traveled some beautiful scenic route let me know in the comments, I am curious to read you.
