The Day of Memory

I would like to remember the Day of Memory with these words taken from an article I wrote two years ago but always current.

We see every day episodes of antisemitism and violence and for this reason we cannot lower our guard, remembering becomes an obligation and a duty for all. We must prevent violence, abuse, the annulment of other people just because they had another religious belief never happen again.

“Never forget. Memory must be always, every day. Yesterday, today, tomorrow, the next….

All the innocent people who have lost their lives must always be remembered, never be forgotten.

Let us think of Primo Levi with his works, Anne Franck with his diary, and these are just two examples of the stories of what the horror in the camps meant, how that tragedy changed history and forced us all to come to terms with human baseness.

Remember not to forget, because such a tragedy never happens again. Learning from history is the best way to never fall to the lowest levels of the human soul. The sacrifice of those who have lost their lives in the changes of concentration must not be in vain.

Remember always, not just once a year”.
