Onkel Taa Royal Imperial Museum

In South Tyrol there is a small and at the same time large museum that will win us over right away.

An enchanted place full of history and culture, a journey through time that will take you to the time of the Habsburgs and the popular Empress of Austria Sissi.

A small house in the heart of the Dolomites that you can almost not see, covered by vegetation and entirely incorporated into nature and the landscape. It seems like an almost surreal place, out of time, where you can forget about everything that happens outside.

Upon entering you come across the authentic Tyrol, made up of thermal baths that Empress Sissi loved so much and were used for her lung problems but also for work and effort, small commercial activities and cultivated fields.

You will be able to see many, but truly many, large and small objects that belonged to Sissi and the court ladies and many agricultural tools, objects of daily life such as plates, glasses, crockery but also old face creams and old perfumes and much, much more. This very particular museum contains 35,000 objects, but perhaps even more, which will leave you speechless, art and culture are everywhere and it is a beauty for us who love them.

And if after a while even the appetite begins to appear, the restaurant connected to the museum is there to satisfy all tastes. And there too you will find paintings and ancient objects on display, even some jewels, which will allow you to enter more and more into that enchanted atmosphere.

The dishes offered are favorites of Sissi and Emperor Franz Joseph and are all delicious, a must try. You will feel like you are eating at the same table as the imperial family and you will enjoy excellent food and excellent service in a very particular but refined and elegant environment.

But I don’t want to anticipate too much, it is a place to see, to experience and you will be immediately conquered.

I’ll leave you the link, I bet you can’t wait to leave and then South Tyrol is truly splendid, worth visiting.
