Pizza boom n.2

Let’s talk about a food that was born in Italy and has conquered the whole world.

Good, inviting, full of taste pizza has quickly crossed national borders and spread really everywhere, and of course each country has adapted the classic daisy origins to its culture, its history, local ingredients, to all those peculiarities that make the cuisine of each people unique.

I always say that food is culture but it really is so because the tastes of each people reflect what that people have lived. Each people has “used” the pizza to highlight all its best ingredients, to explain to tourists/ visitors all its history and culture.

If certain pizzas for us Italians are red alert, like the famous pizza with pineapple, for the country where they are considered delicacies is telling us that for its culture those ingredients are typical and wants to highlight them.

In the end we don’t have to say no a priori when faced with ingredients that are far from our standards, it’s not necessarily bad. Trying new foods, unfamiliar flavors is always a discovery and can lead to meeting culinary really surprising.

We welcome other cultures at the table, it’s a good way to get to know each other better. And anyway if certain ingredients we just do not like we can always fall back on the old pizza margherita.

Here is a rundown of the most original pizzas in the world, and who knows, maybe you get a taste of some pizza a little ‘particular….
