It’s almost Christmas and it’s time to take stock of the year that’s coming to an end. But it’s also time to celebrate and leave the problems aside at least for a while, to let ourselves be infected by the beauty and festive atmosphere.
This 2022 article is very timely and is intended as a wish for a Merry Christmas and a beautiful New Year.
“Christmas is finally upon us, and we all want to celebrate, to leave our daily worries behind and be free to be with those closest to us.
Starting tonight, we’re entering the midst of the Christmas holidays and we’re all preparing something delicious to put on the table, sweet or savory, regional specialties or more complicated dishes to challenge ourselves and feel at least like Michelin-starred chefs for these holidays. Everyone has their own rituals, their own little manias, their own tastes, and their own small or large personal traditions.
It’s nice to celebrate Christmas, to find friends, relatives, acquaintances. At midnight, the exchange of gifts becomes something magical and delicate, a very sweet and meaningful gesture if done with the people we care about most.
The spirit of Christmas is entering our homes, and it’s nice to see movies and read books all together with a nice hot chocolate, perhaps while watching the gently falling snow from the windows. But it’s also nice to rediscover exhibitions and museums that open the mind and fill the heart.
Obviously, we can’t forget who will celebrate Christmas away from home. We can’t forget that there are people who won’t be able to bring anything to the table because everything is too expensive, that there are people who don’t even have a home to go to and will spend these holidays on a freezing bench.
The best gift this Christmas? Peaceful and peaceful days for all. And may these be truly bright days for you reader friends (the same goes for you reader friends) who support me, and put up with me, every week.”
