As I promised, here’s a freshly baked article on French cuisine.
And I didn’t say randomly baked. Let’s reflect, the symbol of France is for everyone the baguette, a famous very tasty and fragrant loaf that is eaten every day throughout the country and is depicted as a walking food, food that can also be eaten outside the home.
I think you’ve all seen photos of baguettes nonchalantly carried around French cities before, but reducing French cuisine to just bread is really too reductive and doesn’t take into account all the delicious recipes that are part of French history themselves, cooked by chefs in Paris and then become iconic here too.
Delicious and famous soups like soupe à l’oignon, onion soup with gratinated cheese, are part of French culture and history. It evokes a whole series of memories, of historical events that have made France the country it is today.
A truly iconic and succulent second like coq au vin immediately recalls refined lunches and dinners that we have seen so many times in films, or perhaps in which we have participated firsthand and felt as if we were at the Palace of Versailles.
The parmentier cream, evokes cold evenings and us who eat this cream in the heat of our home or in a restaurant with soft lights and relaxing atmosphere, ideal to recharge the batteries after a long and hard day of work.
And then there are a thousand empty or filled croissants, pain au chocolat, macarons that make our days sweeter and allow us to forget our frenetic pace at least for a little while and how to forget the crème brûlée and experience an adventure like Amelie and her fabulous and fun world.
Let’s remember that yes, primacy always rightfully belongs to Italian cuisine but from time to time cooking something new, out of the ordinary or going to lunch or dinner in a refined bistro can be a real treat, a balm that can make life more beautiful and fulfilling, and perhaps a trip to Paris would be the best way to unplug and savor excellent food, art and culture.
And in the articles you find while browsing the internet you will see that there are many, many recipes suitable for everyone and ready to be enjoyed at home too.
