The woman in the photo is the Maltese blogger Daphne Caruana Galizia, author of one of the blogs most followed by the inhabitants of the small island of the Mediterranean.
Daphne was also an investigative journalist who discovered in time almost all the dirty business and corruption in the high spheres of Maltese politics, so as to compel the prime minister to resign and to call early elections.
Yesterday, Daphne was a victim of a vile attack, a bomb placed aboard his car, and jumped into the air under the eyes of her husband and son who tried unnecessarily to rescue her even though they knew that by now she was too late.
Brave woman Daphne had been threatened over and over again but she had never stopped and had never been afraid to write her inquiries and point her finger at the corrupt, the drug, the arms dealers. Precisely her courage has annoyed those who lived doing dirty business and for this was eliminated but her example of loyalty and love for truth will never be defeated and will continue to exist in all those who to make correct information risk their lives.
A little homage to Daphne and all the journalists and honest bloggers who are not afraid to expose themselves in delicate themes and touching particular interests today is more than ever dutiful.
