Our thoughtlessness, the joy of Christmas, the pleasure of making a gift to the people dearest to us, everything is permanently set. International terrorism is back on us like the sword of Damocles and reminds us that terrorism is an insidious enemy that strikes when we least expect it and aim to do as much damage as possible.
Terrorism has infiltrated the Christmas spirit and it is now difficult to find all our thoughtlessness and our desire to celebrate. Now we’re all more doubters, more cowed, no more ready to think only to parties; Strasbourg and its market remind us that we can never be complacent, that terrorism can strike at any time and in any place we can consider ourselves really confident.
Then in the name of fighting terrorism, we are ready to say goodbye to our carelessness
