This blog is about books, art and culture but today it’s different.
The protests in Iran following the killing of Mahsa Amini, a girl who had the sole fault of not putting on the Islamic veil well, They also involved the West and now we are all in the streets together with Iranian women to demand the end of a repressive and in some ways anachronistic regime.
Women, we are powerful, we can bring down a regime if we want to, and we will never let anything, or anyone bring us down.
Women, we are powerful, we do not accept being segregated at home and reduced to the role of wives and mothers without any rights.
Women, we are powerful and also tired of seeing girls and girls forced to marry violent men much older than them and suffer the consequences of too early parts.
Women, we are powerful, and we want to study anything without the fear of feeling inferior to males, and above all we do not accept the fact that in some countries girls are still denied the right to education. As Malala Yousafzai said, all it takes is a book and a pen and you can change the world, especially if that book and that pen are in the hands of a girl.
Women, we are powerful, and a lot, and change can and must come from us. Simply women but extraordinary we can all together build a better world where equality will be the rule and not the exception.
So girl, and women, power!!!!
